The remote reservoir was formed when Great Western Power completed their dam on the North Fork of the Feather River in 1914. The name comes from the vice president of the company’s daughters and a mashup of their three names: Alice, Martha, and Eleanor.

Today, the dam is owned by PG&E and used for hydroelectricity production, and the reservoir is a tranquil recreation area that boasts fishing, boating, water skiing, swimming, and camping. Simply put, it’s the perfect place to spend a summer day!
