Connecticut is a stunning state, especially for nature lovers. And with 139 state parks spread across our little state, it’s safe to say we have plenty of options for enjoying our rugged natural beauty. Kent Falls State Park is a favorite destination for locals and tourists alike. And all it takes is one visit to see why.

Kent Falls State Park is located in the charming little town of Kent, within the Litchfield Hills region of the southern Berkshires.

Visilea / TripAdvisor The state park was established after 200 acres was donated to the state in 1919.

The park is beautiful in any season, but in the autumn, it is absolutely breathtaking.

Most people who visit do so to simply enjoy being in nature.

cjrmay20 / TripAdvisor You can wander across the covered bridge, hike the falls, and enjoy the sights and sounds of this underrated part of the state.

The highlight of this park is, of course, Kent Falls itself.

Teardrop Trailer Traveler / TripAdvisor Kent Falls is actually a series of falls and cascades that covers about 250 feet in total.

Believe it or not, this part of Connecticut was once made of coral reefs, offshore from the northwestern part of the state.

Winkylee12 / TripAdvisor It’s strange to think about now, but it just goes to show that nature is incredibly powerful.

The first two cascades fall over smooth layers of marble.

Check out Kent Falls State Park before the end of autumn, if you can.
