Oregon’s towns are as diverse as its landscape. You’ll find a 100-year-old rodeo in Pendleton, and a history that goes back to 1811 in Astoria. Some towns have beaches; others have fresh mountain air or acres of vineyards. Recently, the site Big 7 Travel named the most charming small town in every state, and we can’t agree more with their choice for Oregon. Check out the pretty little town of Jacksonville:

You’ll find the quaint little town of Jacksonville just west of Medford. Founded in 1851, it was one of Oregon’s first gold-mining towns. Today, it’s home to around 3,000 residents.

There’s a lot of history in this little town. Take a walk through downtown to see some of the historic buildings. Stop in at Beekman House Museum, and consider taking a haunted history tour.

The town’s cemetery has gravestones that date back more than 100 years, and you’ll enjoy some nice views of town from atop the hill here, too.
