One of the most scenic waterfalls in South Carolina is bathed in hues of green and it pours, dribbles, and cascades down an 80-foot rocky wall covered in moss, ferns, and other bright green foliage. If there’s only one moderately difficult waterfall hike you attempt all year, then this is the one to choose.
Lee Falls just may be the crown jewel of Oconee County’s more than 150 waterfalls.

There are water crossings over small streams and you can’t always count on as much as a log to get you over them. It’s a good idea to bring a second pair of shoes for the ride home because this trail may leave you with some wet toes.

An occasional downed tree may also warrant some strategic maneuvering. But finding this gem in the heart of the Sumter National Forest is always a magical feeling.
