If you’re from Hot Springs, then this is one pretty drive you’ve already seen and done; however, travelers can easily overlook this underappreciated tour. This scenic drive may be short but it’s one that every Hot Springs visitor should take! Let’s head up the mountain to see the grand view.

It may not be as long as our scenic byways, but this is one little drive everyone needs to take at least once.

AllTrails/Alan Farmer The Hot Springs Mountain Scenic Drive is more than just a tourist attraction. The breezy tour up the mountain is one that perfectly snapshots the beauty of Hot Springs, all without taking more than an hour. The drive begins at Fountain Street, just off of Central Avenue.

The windy road will take drivers to the top of the mountain for a rewarding view.

AllTrails/Brea Smith The road is paved so no 4WD is necessary but keep the hairpin turns in mind! The route was originally intended for carriage rides up the mountain during the late 1800s.

After you’ve accomplished the numerous switchbacks the road opens to a stunning overlook.

AllTrails/Yasu Onodera The Pagoda overlook offers a gorgeous view and fresh mountain air for drivers. There’s also a picnic area nearby if you want to sit and stay for a while.

This drive is gorgeous year-round but we do have some preferred visiting times.

Flickr/Ken Lund The lush greenery of late spring and the explosion of fall colors in the valley will give you an excuse to take this drive numerous times throughout the year!

Also at the top is the Hot Springs Mountain Tower.

Google/Visit Hot Springs It may be one of the most touristy sites in Hot Springs but for good reason. The top of the tower has tons of information about the town and its history as well as an even grander view than the overlook. It’s one of those attractions that everyone needs to do at least once.

From the tower, you’ll be able to see all of Hot Springs!

Google/Rikki Jackson The panoramic view of the valley below is one you’ll never forget. Especially if you can take perfect photos to commemorate the tour!

Don’t forget to visit the visible hot springs when you’re back to the base of the mountain.

Flickr/Ken Lund Look but don’t touch! You can also fill your own jugs of fresh hot spring water at a nozzled fountain near the Visitor Center.
