There’s no bad time to take a scenic drive in Ohio. The next time you need to get out of the house, consider taking a drive just for the sake of taking a drive. The Johnny Appleseed Historic Byway in northeast Ohio features a scenic and historic route that’s fun to explore no matter what time of year it is. Here are some of the historic sites and natural beauty you’ll see along the way:

You’ll start your journey in the charming town of Loudonville along State Route 39.

Along the way, you’ll encounter several different historic landmarks you might want to stop and explore. Pictured is The Workman Cabin.

You’ll also travel along State Route 603, between the village of Mifflin and the beautiful Malabar Farm in Lucas, Ohio.

If you’re looking for an excellent place to stop for lunch, look no further than The Malabar Farm Restaurant within the state park.

Eventually, you’ll make your way to the Johnny Appleseed Forest (not pictured), which was dedicated in May of 2000 below the Charles Mill Dam.
