Those of us who love hiking know it’s a ton of fun. It promises so much — from giving us the chance to embrace nature, to breathe in the fresh air, and to get far from the stress of life. Some trails also teach us a thing or two. Cathedral Rock Trail in New York, for example, gives us a brief history lesson in a fire tower and the trail’s namesake.

Bring the whole family — and maybe even a picnic basket — along on the two-mile Cathedral Rock Trail that boasts a ton of gorgeous scenery.

However, you won’t climb more than 200 feet during the whole hike, making it one of those hikes even the kids will love. (You can also bring your pup along, as long as he is leashed.)
