Little Jerusalem Badlands State Park may not exactly be a secret, but the Life on the Rocks overlook trail is just the thing for escaping into the fresh air without too many crowds.

This 2.4-mile trail is categorized as “lightly trafficked,” which means it doesn’t get as much footfall as other trails in the region.

Though you’ll only gain 91 feet in elevation, this trail offers views that will make you feel high as a bird. The rock formations of the badlands are truly spectacular to behold.
