Minnesota has so much to explore! There are 66 state parks, more than 10,000 lakes, and countless hiking trails, small towns, interesting museums, and up-and-coming restaurants to explore. However, after you’ve visited the most popular of these categories, it’s a little more difficult to find new places worthy of your time. That’s why today we’d like to introduce a hidden park that you may have never thought to visit. It’s so hidden that most locals don’t even know about it! Read on below to learn about what you’ll find at Hidden Falls Regional Park. Hint: there is a waterfall involved!

Hidden Falls Regional Park is a lovely park along the Mississippi River in St. Paul. Though it’s in the Twin Cities, many residents of the metro area do not know about it.

Because it’s right on the river, Hidden Falls Regional Park has plenty of beautiful nature to explore. The sandy shore a lovely place to relax on a sunny day. Many also launch canoes and kayaks into the river from the park.

The forests near the riverbanks are also fun to explore. Here, you can find many unique trees and other plant life. If you’re lucky, you may also spot some of the wildlife that lives in the area. Birds, deer, and many other animals live here!

The river isn’t the only thing worth seeing in this hidden park. There are almost 7 miles of trails throughout the park. As you explore, you can stop at a shaded table for a rest. Pack a picnic and make it a full day!

One of the most popular trails at Hidden Falls Regional Park leads to a set of rugged stone stairs. These alone will make you feel like you’ve stumbled across a secret garden.

The stone steps lead down to a rocky landing, where you’ll soon notice the trickle of a thin but lovely waterfall. The moss-covered stones add even more beauty to the scene.

While Hidden Falls isn’t the largest or most roaring waterfall, it is still well worth visiting. Located in a little-known park, it makes for a special place to get some peace and quiet in the middle of the city.
