Hebron Nebraska Is Home To World S Largest Porch Swing Attraction

The town of Hebron might have just over 1,500 residents, but most Nebraskans have no idea that this little town holds the World’s Largest Covered Porch Swing! In fact, the town of Hebron has deemed itself “Nebraska’s Porch Swing Capital.” Most people are used to finding porch swings in the south, but an enthusiastic local was determined to bring the biggest and best porch swing to Nebraska. This unusual attraction is located in Roosevelt Park and can hold up to 16 adults or 24 children. Even though this big swing might not be in the Guinness World Records, locals say that no one has yet challenged the proclamation. A local Nebraskan in the 1980s had the idea to create a large porch swing during a visit to the south and saw the draw that four-seaters brought. The original goal was to take the title of “Fourth of July City” from Seward.

They worked with a local engineer to create this 16-seater porch swing. This swing can hold 16 adults or 24 children! This swing was first built on Civilian Conservation Corps Camp before being moved to Roosevelt Park to further its popularity.
