Maybe it’s not so surprising the museum is regularly deemed one of the most haunted places in North Dakota – it was, after all, first built as a farmhouse in 1876. In later years, it was transformed to the children’s museum it is today, but apparently spirits from its past remain, including a child-loving former owner and a ghostly kid by a well.

But as fun and as educational as it is, it’s also rumored to be haunted by multiple ghosts.

Sarah Yunker, whose husband originally owned the farm back in the 1800s, is rumored to be one of the spirits. She is described as a welcoming presence who hangs out upstairs where the children’s activities primarily are. It makes sense because she loved kids.

The other ghost is a little girl seen by the well. Legend has it she drowned there.

People often report feeling short of breath and experiencing chest pains by the well — the same thing the little girl likely felt before her untimely death.

In addition, staff has reported the elevator randomly not working or moving on its own, odd noises, and feeling like they are being watched.
