Shohola Falls Trail in Pennsylvania is certainly short and sweet, and it boasts some jaw-dropping natural beauty.

Spanning just over a half a mile, Shohola Falls Trail is one of those easy trails that the whole family, including the kids and the pups, will love.

If you’ve got time, stop and smell the flowers – literally. The trail is dotted with vibrant wildflowers that add an extra burst of color to the landscape.

Though Shohola Falls Trail is considered easy, be forewarned that the path can be overgrown sometimes. You’ll also want to keep an eye out for snakes, which might cross your path.

The highlight of the trail is undoubtedly Shohola Falls. Unlike many of Pennsylvania’s waterfalls, Shohola Falls is wider at than it is tall (50 feet).

It’s definitely worth a visit in all four seasons, especially when flanked by the fall foliage and sprinkled with snow in the winter.

You’ll also come to a flowing dam, another picture-perfect backdrop for photos.

Though some people tell of swimming in the pool of water near the waterfall, other hikers recommend wearing long pants due to the long grass that lines the trail.
