You’re up for a bit of a challenge, right? Then this scenic trail in Tennessee is sure to please. It’s definitely not for total beginners, but the views you’ll enjoy make it worth all the dirt and sweat involved. Here’s how to tackle one of the prettiest and toughest trails in the state.

With spectacular views, a gorgeous waterfall, and plenty of challenging terrain, Fiery Gizzard Trail is perfect for veteran hikers.

It’s located near Tracy City in South Cumberland State Park and is about 9.6 miles long.

Start this loop trail counter-clockwise. This way, you’ll be able to tackle the tough ascent through the forest while you’re still energized.

The trail winds through shady groves and along babbling brooks. You can hop over small streams and stop to rest next to stunning waterfalls.
