We all deserve to feel as though we’re on the top of the world, at least every now and then. When you set off on the Table Rock Trail in South Carolina, you’ll be in for quite the challenge. However, the reward will be well worth it. At the end, you’ll feel as though you’ve climbed to the top of the world, and the views are sure to leave you breathless.
Come to Table Rock State Park in Pickens prepared, especially if you’re up for the challenge of hiking the 6.4-mile out and back Table Rock Trail.

The scenic trail is rated difficult - and for good reason. Wear comfortable, sturdy hiking shoes and bring plenty of water and snacks, because you’ll predominately climb uphill for the first part of the hike.

In fact, the trail ascends 2,000 feet, which includes some stairs, to the mountain’s summit. Those who have hiked the trail warn that it is difficult and even strenuous, but the views are well worth the effort.

Along the trail, you’ll come across several small waterfalls, perfect for stopping, snapping a few pictures, and catching your breath. Your best bet for a successful hike is to take your time.

Admission to Table Rock State Park is, as of September 2020, $6 per person. Seniors 65 and older pay $3.75. Kiddos six to 15 years have an admission fee of $3.50.
