Ohioans probably won’t be surprised to learn that the Farmers’ Almanac predicts a cold and snowy winter for the Buckeye State this year. Considering all the challenges of the year 2020 so far, this one (almost) seems fitting. If you believe in the accuracy of the Farmers’ Almanac, get ready to hunker down for a cold and somewhat snowier season than usual for the winter of 2020-2021 in Ohio.
Right now, your mind is probably on all things fall, crisp and colorful—and understandably so. Autumn is arguably the most magical time of the year in Ohio.

But you likely also have the long, gray winter season looming in the back of your mind somewhere. This year, the Farmers’ Almanac predicts a cold and “very flaky” winter season for Ohio.

For the southern half of Ohio, this might mean frequent snow days and snow-covered hills and valleys—a fairly rare occurrence throughout the winter season.

For the northern half of the state, icy streets, snow plows and bone-chilling winds are nothing new.
