Located in Covington, Virginia, this one-of-a-kind arched bridge was built in 1857. In fact, it’s the only covered humpback bridge that remains in the U.S. Visit during the fall season and you can look forward to beautiful foliage surrounding the area.

The bridge was constructed in 1892 and spans the north fork of the Shenandoah River. Historians believe that there were at least two former covered bridges in this same area, likely lost to fire and flood.
- Jack’s Creek Covered Bridge

Built sometime around 1914 - 1916 as a queen post truss construction, the bridge spans 48 feet. The bridge is the site of the annual Patrick County Covered Bridge Festival in June, although if you visit during the fall, you’ll enjoy a different kind of scenery.
- Sinking Creek Bridge
James Walsh / flickr Last, but not least, we arrive at Sinking Creek Bridge. Located in the town of Newport in Giles County, this picturesque covered bridge was built in 1916. Also known as Clover Hollow Bridge, it spans a length of 70 feet and is famous for its trademark red paint and tin roof.
