Ready to dust off those hiking boots? It’s a beautiful time of year to get outside and explore this beautiful state of ours, and we’ve got the perfect trail. Today, we’re heading over to Central Louisiana to explore the Lake Chicot Loop Trail, one of the most scenic trails in Louisiana. Let’s check it out.

With over 6,400 acres to explore, it’s safe to say Chicot State Park is every nature lover’s paradise.

Nestled along the 2,000-acre Lake Chicot, Chicot State Park appeals to fishermen, kayakers, birdwatchers, and hikers alike.

Hikers, in particular, will enjoy a stroll along the Chicot Lake Loop Trail - one of the most scenic trails in all of Louisiana.

Clocking in around 17 miles, this beautiful trail winds around the shores of the lake, leading you on a spectacularly scenic adventure through the surrounding swamps and forested wetlands.

You’ll be met with mesmerizing emerald greens, towering tupelos, and those iconic cypress trees along the way.

In addition to the foot trails, there’s also an 8-mile canoe trail that will allow you to see the park from an entirely new perspective.
