First opened in 1999, Epi’s was originally owned and operated by Christi Ansotegui and Gina Ansotegui Urquidi. Named after their grandmother who traveled to America in 1929 and operated the Gem Bar in Hailey, this restaurant revolves entirely around Basque tradition.

Great-grandson Erik McFarland took over the restaurant in August 2019, but it’s the same old Epi’s that we’ve always known and loved. Using the same traditional recipes from Grandma Epi’s table, visitors can enjoy an authentic taste of Basque Country right here in Idaho!
