There’s no denying that we are currently living through some strange times (we promise not to call them “unprecedented”). But there’s also no denying that we are living through them in the most beautiful state in the country, a state that we can still explore, albeit creatively. We’re entering the winter of the Year of the Staycation. And you can enjoy an absolutely magical experience at Cedarbrook Lodge, right down to some cozy (and delicious) outdoor dining.

Cedarbrook Lodge is located in SeaTac, but you’d never know it.

Cedarbrook Lodge / Facebook The property sits just two miles from SeaTac airport, but you’ll feel like you’re in your own world.

Cedarbrook is set on a nature reserve, and it’s surrounded by lush, green beauty and tranquil gardens.

Cedarbrook Lodge / Facebook Sustainability is important here. In the spring and summer, you’ll find vegetables and herbs growing in the garden used to make your dinner, and buzzing beehives full of fresh honey.

This property was originally used as a training facility in the early 2000s. And typically, the many conference rooms and banquet rooms that still exist would be full of happy people at holiday parties, winter weddings, and business meetings.

Cedarbrook Lodge / Facebook But things look different this year, as we know. Cedarbrook Lodge is currently a quiet, uncrowded, absolutely ideal spot for a winter getaway.

While some of the property amenities remain closed, you can still pamper yourself at the onsite spa.

Cedarbrook Lodge / Facebook Capacity is limited and certain precautions must be taken, but if you’ve missed out on some massages this year, this is a fantastic time to treat yourself.

But the highlight of the hotel’s current offerings is Camp Copperleaf, the magical outdoor dining experience.

Jessica Wick Indoor dining is currently restricted in Washington. And even when it isn’t, many people simply prefer outdoor dining right now. So the team at Copperleaf Restaurant created a beautiful, safe place to enjoy a meal.

At Camp Copperleaf, the tables are placed far apart, the heat lamps are abundant, the lighting is perfect, and the fireplace is cozy.

Cedarbrook Lodge / Facebook The patio is also covered, so no Seattle rain (or snow… you never know) will get between you and your dinner.

The food menu is temporarily limited, but rest assured, you can enjoy all your favorite comfort foods (or a healthy salad, if you so desire).

Management / TripAdvisor There’s also a long list of hot cocktails to warm you up from the inside out.

Just make sure you save room for the complimentary snacks you can take back to your room or suite.

Cedarbrook Lodge / Facebook The malt balls are absolutely addictive.

Experience a winter staycation at Cedarbrook Lodge and you won’t even miss being somewhere tropical. We promise.
