It all started when owners Matt and Valerie Quest decided to create a new coffee concept, known as Quest Coffee.

The Cottage / Google Quest Coffee was inspired by the family’s former au pair, who is from Brazil. The au pair’s family owned coffee farms in Brazil and were struggling to keep operations moving. The Quests flew down to Brazil, met with the farmers, and developed Quest Coffee as a way to use all the beans in small batch roasting in a way that benefited the farmers. They also started a profit sharing program with the farmers to help them earn a living wage.

The Cottage first opened as a coffee shop, but it wasn’t long before it expanded.

The Cottage / Facebook It became a community gathering place to sell Quest Coffee, local wine, beer, and spirits, and farm-to-table cuisine. When current conditions allow, it’s also a space perfect for hosting local musicians.

After all the events of the past year unfolded, The Cottage revealed its new covered, heated deck for year-round outdoor dining.
