Looking for some socially distant fun this holiday season? We’ve found it! The Holiday Lights on the River is a drive-through holiday lights display practically guaranteed to add holiday cheer to everyone’s demeanor this year. It takes place at Saluda Shoals Park in Columbia beginning on November 23, 2020.
Best of all, it’s affordably priced at just $20 per car and you can pile as many people in that car as you can safely transport… there is no limit. (However, passenger vans, trucks, and limos will cost slightly more.)

Good luck narrowing down the guest list to fit them all in your car, and then head out to Saluda Shoals in Columbia for two miles of twinkling lights.

Google Maps/Andrew T. But due to the pandemic, 2020 will look a bit different. The only activity available this year will be the Wetland Walking Trail, which is totally optional. (Guests expecting to explore this out-of-car activity should consider wearing a face mask, although the venue is not currently stating on its website that it is requiring face masks.)
If you’re not so familiar with Columbia, Saluda Shoals Park is west of town, near Interstate 26 and near to Irmo.

The hours are 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. No concessions or activities outside of the Wetland Walking Trail will be available in 2020. We hope to see them returning next year, though.
