When it comes to outdoor adventures Kentucky is a great place to be. There are so many different landscapes, so many different things to see and all of that leads to plenty of ways to enjoy a day. The out-and-back trail is about 2.6 miles and features lush forest and wonderful views as you make your way to the incredible swimming hole at the end.

There are two different trailheads you can choose from depending on where you’d like to start. You’ll find the shorter one on Forest Road 195 about 2.8 miles from where the road passes KY-90. If you choose to start here, you’ll reach the waterfall in just about a mile. That makes the full trip just about two miles.

The second trailhead leads to a path that’s twice as long as the first. This one is great if you have the time to explore the woods. You’ll find it on Forest Road 195 about 0.8 miles from where it meets KY-90.

This is a great trail for those who aren’t looking for much climbing. The elevation gain here is minimal at about 223 feet at its highest.

As you make your way along the trail be sure to take extra caution around slippery rocks. You’ll want to wear good shoes for this. And when you reach the end, things get good! A 15-foot waterfall is beautiful year-round. It’s not uncommon to see people taking photos here.

And, of course, the swimming hole is the main attraction. The water is clear and blue. You can even spend some time enjoying the sand at the shores with a picnic.
