It’s a common misconception that all the best food in the country can be found in big city restaurants. In the case of The Forks (known both as The Forks Mercantile Saloon and The Forks 287), this iconic restaurant hails from a town with a population of just a little over 2,000 people.
Livermore is an unincorporated community in Colorado with very few people, but it’s still one of the best restaurants in the state. Formed in 1875, it has been closed on and off and operated under new management over the years. Still, despite all the changes, The Forks keeps its Western cowboy-style ambience. The Forks is THE spot in the community to get food, and a perfect stop if you’re roadtripping to Wyoming or visiting the Red Feather Lakes.
