And while this can be the perfect way to spend a beautiful day outdoors, sometimes, shorter hikes can be more appealing. That’s exactly what you’ll enjoy when you climb Bearfence Mountain. It’s just one mile and yet hikers should note there’s quite a bit of climbing required. Fortunately, though, the view from the top will be well worth the effort. Situated in the Northern Terminus of Shenandoah National Park, Bearfence Mountain trail is one that packs a mean punch in a relatively short time frame.

Although rated as moderate on AllTrails, it’s important to note that this trek is more appropriately rated as difficult due to the steep inclines and scrambles. Fortunately, you can take your time, because the trail is only one mile total.
