Gore Place in Waltham is hosting an hour-long stargazing session on January 22. The session will teach attendees to identify constellations, stars, and even planets.

Along the way, you’ll learn about the history of astronomy and its hold on public imagination in the 19th century. Gore Place is actually the former country estate of Christopher and Rebecca Gore, who built the lavish home in 1806.

This event is meant to entertain and educate, so you don’t need any prior knowledge of astronomy. Kids age 6 and up are welcome to attend.

You don’t need to bring any special equipment, as the event is meant to help you identify celestial bodies with the naked eye. However, you’re welcome to bring a pair of binoculars if you like!

The 2021 stargazing event will involve social distancing measures and face coverings are required. Tickets are $15 per adult and $10 for children 6-17 years old.
