The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks (BGO) is an aromatic field day for nature lovers.

Google/Arkansas Tourism The BGO features a dozen differently themed gardens sprawled out over 44 acres in Fayetteville. In addition to the native flora, the BGO also houses a truly magical place for our native butterflies!

The Butterfly House at BGO is Arkansas’ biggest conservatory for native butterflies.

Facebook/Botanical Garden of the Ozarks Across the Great Lawn, on the other side of the Four Seasons Garden resides the state’s only butterfly house. This gorgeous place not only attracts butterflies but also acts as a protective breeding ground for them.

Inside the Butterfly House is a very important garden.

The butterfly Mentors of BGO raise native species of butterflies throughout the year. The best time to visit to see them fluttering about is from May till about October.
