Minnesota’s North Shore is home to many beautiful waterfalls. Some of these North Shore waterfalls are among the most popular in the state. For example, Gooseberry Falls, the High Falls of the Pigeon River, and Devil’s Kettle are among Minnesota’s most visited waterfalls. But there are other North Shore waterfalls that are well worth visiting. For example, the Cascades at George H. Crosby Manitou State Park are a little off the beaten track. But a short and beautiful hike can lead you to this waterfall in no time. Read on below to learn about hiking the Cascades Waterfall Trail:
George H. Crosby Manitou State Park is a northern Minnesota park near the North Shore. Because it is several miles off the Lake Superior shoreline and Highway 61, it is a lesser-known park. But it is full of beauty.

The park covers more than 6,600 acres along the Manitou River as it flows eastward toward Lake Superior. It is largely undeveloped, making its rugged hills and thick forests a great place for hikers who love to explore.

Along the Cascades Waterfall Trail, you’ll have a chance to see much of the park’s beauty up close. The trail is unpaved and may contain roots or rocks. As you walk, you have a good chance of spotting some of the many birds, rodents, and mammals that make homes in the park.
