Well, it was about time the truth came out. Floridians have been hiding this secret for too long, and it was only a matter of time. While Florida might be the go-to vacation destination throughout spring and summer, visiting during the wintertime is just plain wrong. Everyone knows that Florida is actually the worst during the winter, and nobody in their right mind would want to come to visit during this season. Why? Well, here are 9 reasons why visiting Florida during the wintertime is just a bad idea.

  1. The sun takes forever to set.

Flick Matthew Paulson Just going on and on and on with stunning hues and magical colors. What a drag. Especially when it sets over the water. Could it be any more annoying?

  1. What’s the point of having all these beaches anyway?

Flickr Allan LEONARD Blah blah blah. Lots of sand. Tons of surf. Beauty abounds—we get it. Cue eye roll.

  1. There is way too much holiday cheer.

Flick Matthew Paulson Really, many might expect all this holiday cheer from people up north, but in Florida? It’s too much. Too many beautiful lights. Too many fun holiday events. Too much Christmas cheer.

  1. Really, 70 degrees pretty much all season long?

Flickr jetsandzeppelins Sure, Florida has some cold days and nights, but keeping at a crisp 70-75 degrees during the winter months? How utterly boring. Maybe we WANT to dig our cars out of layers of ice every morning.

  1. There’s too much color.

Flickr Karen Blaha Other states during the winter months end up with blankets of one or two colors all season long. Here in Florida? We have way too much color. Who needs it?

  1. Did we mention it’s just plain hideous?

Flickr Matthew Paulson Yes, we get it. There are endless ocean views and epic natural elements that thrive during these months. And?

  1. There are way too many outdoor activities to still be enjoyed.

Flickr Matthew Paulson Who has time to go hiking or camping or surfing or paddling all winter long? Who wants to spend their weekends soaking up the sun?!

  1. The small towns get way too excited about Christmas.

Flickr Matthew Paulson We get it, you like Christmas. You enjoy decorating. Your small town looks like it’s straight out of a Hallmark movie. It’s too magical, guys, way too magical.

  1. Feeling like a kid again is just plain overrated.

Flickr Joe Penniston Oh yeah? You want to relive some of the best moments of your life from childhood in a place where no one judges you and everything is straight out of a fairytale? Count me out.

Hopefully, by now you realized we were just being sarcastic. We love Florida during the wintertime and some might say it’s the best season of all!
