You can camp pretty close to the quarry. Each site includes a fire ring and picnic table. (There are also shower houses, a laundry facility and a camp store for supplies and snacks.) With stunning views of Lake Erie and ancient ruins to explore, this beautiful campground almost makes you forget you’re in Ohio. Both primitive and RV camping is permitted here, with 42 non-electric sites and 82 electric sites.

  1. Baylor Beach Park (Navarre)

Baylor Beach Park/Facebook With 60 campsites and 75 acres of family fun to discover, this little-known campground is a hidden gem tucked away in Ohio Amish Country. The park has 286 sites with full hookups, and guests can enjoy modern restrooms and hot showers. There are also cabins to rent, a pool, playground equipment for the little ones and more. East Harbor State Park is one of the most popular places to camp in Ohio.
