For those of us that already live in Alaska, it comes as no surprise to learn that the mighty Last Frontier was ranked as the #1 ‘happiest place to live in America’ from an American well-being index by Gallup-Healthways in 2015. With a strong feeling of purpose in the great nation of America along with a sense of contentment, Alaska residents are generally very happy and at peace with the place that they call home. There are so many wonderful reasons Alaska is the happiest state in America.
This study also included areas such as collective feelings of financial security, community pride, and good health. Because we love to work hard and play even harder, while always keeping our cultural values and our beloved families as a top priority, this too makes perfect sense. Which brings us to our next point — Alaska was ranked #2 on this other study documenting the overall happiest and healthiest states in the US. Here we fell second in line to the incredibly beautiful state of Hawaii, which also happens to be a favorite vacation destination for Alaskans. There are so many wonderful things about living in our great state, and these studies have proven it!
